Community Resilience and Wellbeing Amid Climate Crisis

UBC Wellbeing Thrive event – see description here.

“Climate change is increasingly impacting mental health and community wellbeing. Heatwaves, forest fires, flooding, air pollution, and pandemics are magnifying and increasing anxiety, stress, depression, PTSD, anxiety and grief. There is a growing urgent need to shift the public health impacts of climate change from a secondary to a primary focus in planning, decision making, policies, and practices.

This presentation and discussion explores a recent Sustainability Scholar report on Community Resilience and Wellbeing Amid Climate Crisis and ways community stakeholders, decision-makers, and institutions can promote knowledge and strategies for navigating climate change impacts on mental health and wellbeing to build community resilience.”
