A Sad Man in a Suit: One Student’s Experiences with Depression and Anxiety

Let’s talk about mental health. We need to be thoughtful about it, especially during the pandemic. It’s a difficult topic to talk honestly about – but hey, let’s get that ball rolling.

In this peer to peer fireside chat, graduate student Beth Castle will be interviewing a fellow MD/PhD student about his experience living with depression and anxiety.

  • How did he first understand what he was feeling?
  • How did he first ask for help?
  • How does he cope now, during his program?

Please join us on Monday, September 28th at 12-1pm for an open and frank conversation about his personal experience.  Following the interview, Dr. Karen Ross will present key UBC Resources for Mental Health Support.
